The object examined in this observation
is Serat Prabu Cing Tik Kun, a
manuscript from my own collection. Serat
Prabu Cing Tik Kun is a single manuscript
copied by Tyo Jing Kwan. The
manuscript tells about Prabu Cing Tik Kun’s journey with
Prince Cyu Yong, coming out the
palace for knowing the condition out side. They got
various problems. One of them is the
officials unfaith fullness and arbitrary in carrying
out their duty, and also their
cooperation with the insurreconists.
The problems observed are: (1) how Prabu
Cing Tik Kun texts editing are free
from mistakes confroms to philology
observation procedure?. (2) what are the moral
values contained in Serat Prabu Cing
Tik Kun texts?. The goal of the observation are
performing Serat Prabu Cing Tik Kun texts
editing wich are free from mistakes conform
to philology observation procedure and
depicting the moral values contained in Serat
Prabu Cing Tik Kun texts.
The data source of the observation is the
manuscript of Serat Prabu Cing Tik
Kun. The data are the sentences in Serat Prabu Cing Tik Kun manuscript.
The form of
this observation is philology observation
with descriptive qualitative characteristic. The
kind of this observation is library
research. The data collection technique accumulated
trough the stayes: looking for the
information from the same kind of manuscripts, looking
for further information in Java
manuscript catalogs, inventarizing manuscript, taking
photograph, then identificating and
translating the text of Serat Prabu Cing Tik Kun. The
text editing method used is standard
edition method.
The analysis used are descriptive and
interpretation analysis. Descriptive analysis
describing the manuscript physically
conform to philology observation procedure, like
text critizing, text editing, instrument
critizing, translating and synopsis making.
Analyzing the content of Serat Prabu
Cing Tik Kun by using interpretation analysis. The
moral values are: helping each other,
honesty, professionality, bravery, positive thinking,
avoiding conflict, respecting guests,
punishing the guilty ones, devoting to parents,
patience, keeping the other feelings,
human rights, keeping promises, inisiative, admitting
mistakes, discussion for the best
solution, and getting what you’ve given.
The conclusion of this observation: (1)
the inventarized Serat Prabu Cing Tik
Kun is a single manuscripts. Transliteration in the text editing
by correcting mistakes in
this observation is the best editing and
free from mistakes. (2) Serat Prabu Cing Tik Kun
contains moral value which can
be used in daily life.
